Mukti, in collaboration with BayBasi, is proud to be the implementing partner of The Prerana Project in Guma, North 24 Parganas. Designed to empower visually impaired youth, the initiative nurtures courage, compassion, and creativity — proving that possibilities extend far beyond limitations. By fostering education, service, and self-reliance, Prerana is transforming challenges into opportunities and creating a more inclusive community.
The highlight of the recent program was a blood donation camp organized on 9th September, entirely by visually impaired students themselves. Under the leadership of their president, Mr. Tarak Chandra, and supported by a spirited team of young volunteers, the camp stood as a remarkable testament to service and resilience. Watching the students plan, coordinate, and inspire others with such confidence and compassion was truly moving — a reminder that strength often grows from overcoming adversity.
Prerana’s contributions extend well beyond healthcare. One of their most impactful initiatives is the audio library, curated and maintained completely by visually impaired students. This library provides access to audiobooks and learning resources, enabling visually impaired individuals to pursue independent learning and informed living. It has become a beacon of self-reliance, knowledge, and empowerment.
The event brought together stakeholders, community members, and partner organizations, all united in celebrating this extraordinary journey. The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, acknowledging the students’ leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to community service.
At Mukti, we feel privileged to walk alongside Prerana in advancing the mission of inclusion and empowerment. Their story is not just about overcoming obstacles — it is about redefining what is possible. We hope their journey inspires more individuals and organizations to come forward and build a society where abilities are celebrated, contributions are valued, and no one is left behind.
