The Mukti Talented Students’ Sponsorship (TSS) team recently facilitated a heartfelt virtual interaction on 5th May 2025, between long-time sponsor Ms. Shiboli Mukhopadhyaya and her sponsored student, Animesh Halder. The meeting provided a meaningful opportunity to discuss Animesh’s academic journey, challenges, and aspirations for the future.
Animesh Halder hails from Damkal village in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Raised in a humble nuclear family with his mother, Animesh lost his father to cancer in 2019. His mother, a cook at a private school, earns around ₹2,000 per month. Occasionally, financial support from Animesh’s uncle helps the family make ends meet, but their annual income is limited to ₹36,000.
Despite such adversities, Animesh’s mother has been a pillar of strength, consistently supporting his education. Currently in the third semester of his B.Com (Accountancy Honours) at Heramba Chandra College, Animesh remains determined to build a better future for himself and his family.
Animesh became a part of the MUKTI TSS program in 2022, with support from his sponsor, Ms. Shiboli Mukhopadhyaya. The scholarship has significantly reduced the family’s financial strain, enabling Animesh to focus on his studies without the burden of monetary concerns.
During the virtual meeting, Ms. Mukhopadhyaya took a keen interest in Animesh’s academic progress and career ambitions. She shared thoughtful guidance, emphasized the importance of perseverance, and encouraged him to stay focused on his goals. Her words of encouragement left a lasting impression on Animesh, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for her support and motivation.
Ms. Shiboli Mukhopadhyaya has been associated with MUKTI since 2018-19. A dedicated Biology teacher at DPS Joka, she has been an inspiring force for the students she sponsors through the TSS program. Her consistent support exemplifies how individual contributions can create life-changing opportunities for underprivileged but talented youth.
Through the TSS program, MUKTI continues to bridge the gap between dreams and reality for many deserving students like Animesh. Such sponsor-student interactions not only nurture academic growth but also sow the seeds of confidence and hope for a brighter future.
