Mukti Gram in Purba Sridharpur became a vibrant hub of community spirit and celebration on the 1st of January as MUKTI hosted the much-anticipated Sankalpa Divas. The event, marking the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Mukti Integrated Development Model Village, brought together over 100 participants, including MUKTI members, students, villagers, and special guests.
The day commenced with a rejuvenating Yoga session led by Mr. Sankar Halder, the Founder-President of Mukti, setting a peaceful tone for the event. His session emphasized the importance of physical well-being as a foundation for community development, aligning with the core values of Mukti.
The celebrations continued with engaging activities designed to promote a sense of unity and the vision for an ideal village. A Sit and Draw competition invited 60 enthusiastic students to express their creative interpretations of what an “Ideal Village” looks like. This activity allowed the young minds to visualize the future of their community in artistic form, fostering imagination and pride.
Kite flying added a dash of color to the sky, with 20 participants taking part in the friendly competition. The event was further energized with spirited football matches—one for women and one for men—showcasing local talent and promoting teamwork and healthy competition.
A highlight of the day was the flag hoisting ceremony, where both the MUKTI flag and the national flag of India were raised, symbolizing unity, pride, and the collective effort towards community progress. This ceremony was followed by the felicitation of senior villagers, MUKTI board members, and members of the village committee, all of whom were recognized for their contributions to the development of the Mukti Model Village.
The primary objective of Sankalpa Divas was to inspire the villagers by showcasing what needs to be done to build an ideal village. By emphasizing education, health, unity, and creativity, MUKTI seeks to empower the community to actively participate in shaping a brighter, sustainable future for all.
The day concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination as participants reflected on the progress of Mukti Gram and envisioned a future where the Mukti model can serve as an inspiration for other villages in the region.
