To celebrate the benefits of yoga and observe International Yoga Day, Mukti has launched a 21-day yoga workshop starting on June 21, 2024. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” guides the initiative, which is led by Mr. Satyajit Roy, the secretary of Mukti. The workshop is conducted virtually, with Mr. Roy presenting daily tutorial videos that teach a variety of exercises to promote physical and mental well-being.
The goal of this celebration is to raise awareness about yoga as a transformative practice that harmonizes mind and body, balances thought and action, and unites restraint with fulfillment. Yoga offers a holistic approach to health and well-being, integrating body, mind, spirit, and soul, and bringing peace to our busy lives.
Every day, members of Mukti, including those from Swastho Songhini, Shahosini, Amplifying Community Voices, Mukti Support School, Mukti Kishalaya Support School, farmers, and Mukti staff, participate in the yoga sessions by following the tutorials. A remarkable 6,554 students from 73 Mukti Support Schools, 1,272 students from 35 Mukti Kishalaya Support Schools, 24 Swastho Songhini members, 29 Shahosini members, 150 farmers, and 200 Mukti staff are actively engaging in these sessions. Additionally, members of Swastho Songhini, Shahosini, and ACV are conducting door-to-door visits to demonstrate yoga poses and raise awareness about the benefits of yoga for personal improvement.
By engaging thousands of participants from various community segments and actively spreading awareness, Mukti is promoting a culture of health, harmony, and well-being. Through the dedication of Mr. Satyajit Roy and the enthusiastic participation of the community, this workshop underscores the transformative potential of yoga in improving lives and creating a balanced society.
