Building Futures: Debajyoti’s Pathway to Opportunity

Debajyoti Halder, hailing from vill+P.O.- Raidighi, Dist-24 Pgs South, experienced a childhood akin to many others in the area. However, his life took a significant turn when, during his second year of primary school, his father passed away due to a cerebral stroke. Left without a source of financial stability, Debajyoti and his mother found solace in the care provided by his paternal grandfather.

Continuing his education at Raidighi S.C.K High School from class V to XII, Debajyoti’s aspirations soared when he entered Class XI with a focus on the Science stream. However, the financial burden associated with his studies proved overwhelming. It was during this challenging period that Debajyoti learned about Mukti through his English teacher. Applying for the TSS scholarship offered by Mukti, Debajyoti’s fortunes turned when he was selected for sponsorship by Mr. Anjan Gupta in 2020.

From 2020 to 2022, Debajyoti received invaluable support from Mr. Anjan Gupta/Mukti Australia, enabling him to pursue his studies and engage in social activities inspired by Mukti’s ethos. Transitioning into a paramedical course in 2022, Debajyoti’s journey took another twist when his sponsorship shifted to Srijan Realty Pvt. Ltd. in the same year. In 2023, seizing an opportunity for stable employment, Debajyoti secured a position as a Gramin Dak Sevok (G.D.S), a decision prompted by his family’s ongoing financial struggles, prompting him to discontinue his paramedical studies.

Presently enrolled in a graduation course in Economics at Netaji Subhash Open University, Debajyoti acknowledges the pivotal role played by both of his sponsors. Their untiring support paved the path for his career progression, offering him opportunities he once deemed unattainable. Expressing profound gratitude, Debajyoti recognizes Mukti’s indispensable contribution in bridging the gap between deserving students and benevolent sponsors, thus fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society.
