Sankar Halder, Founder and President of Mukti, Satyajit Roy, Secretary of Mukti, and Bani Maity, Founder of Mighty Foundation, represented Mukti and its projects at the North America Bengali Conference (NABC) 2024. The event was held from July 4-6 at the Chicago Schaumburg Convention Center, USA. This 3-day event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and establish new ones.
Mukti’s booth attracted many of its current patrons from various US Bengali organizations. Approximately 15 organizations and their leaders visited, inquiring about Mukti’s latest activities and needs. They expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Mukti’s essential work in Bengal and the Sundarbans.
Mr. Prabir Roy, one of the founding members of CAB/NABC and an avid supporter of Mukti, facilitated conversations with leaders of the Chicago Bengali community for long-term project support. The Mukti team also attended the Shibpur and Jadavpur Alumni Associations, exploring potential collaborations.
Additionally, the Mukti team met with eminent cardiologist Dr. Kunal Sarkar to seek his guidance in Safe Food and Telemedicine. On July 7, the team visited the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago, where they had the opportunity to meet Swami Ishatmananda Ji Maharaj and hear his perspectives on Mukti’s work.
The second phase of the trip will continue on the East Coast, with several meetings lined up through July 16.
