This week Mukti introduces you to some of the TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) students who are taking time out of their studies in the midst of their own exam preparation to teach some underprivileged students for free. Their dedication and passion for teaching are helping these poor students to be diligent in their studies. On the other hand, TSS students are being able to deliver a life-changing experience through their social work.
Protiva Das
Protiva Das is a 3rd Year B.Sc. Nursing student from The Capitol College of Nursing, Karnataka. She resides with her parents and one younger sister at Balia, Sagardighi, under the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Her father runs a grocery shop as a daily wage earner and her mother is a homemaker. Her parents struggled to run the family with low income. Income from the shop is not sufficient and her father is unable to provide proper food to the children, the educational cost is too far. She wants to be a successful nurse in the future and support her family.
At present, she is chasing her dreams with the help of GSCA (Garden State Cultural Association) sponsorship.
Besides providing free coaching she also does tree plantation and feeds Street dogs. Everyone from children to adults are healed by her services.
Tanaya Maity
Tanaya Maity is pursuing Gnm nursing, 1st year from Mahishadal Raj College. She resides at Lakshmipur village, P. O- Kamdevpur, P. S- Pathar Pratima, of South 24 Parganas district. She has her parents and younger sister in her family. Her father is a farmer and her mother is a homemaker. From her childhood, she has been fighting poverty. She desires to get higher education. Her parents have tried their best for her schooling. But due to a lack of capital, her parents are unable to educate her in higher education. To live her dreams she has been applied to the Mukti TSS to receive sponsorship.
GSCA (GSCA (Garden State Cultural Association) supports her and at present, she is one of the proud alumni students of TSS.
She is serving society by teaching 10 needy students.
Kaushik Kumar Dey
Kaushik Kumar Dey is a 3rd sem, B. Sc Microbiology Honors student from Dum Dum Motijheel college. Kaushik lives with his parents at 110/2, Cossipore Road, Kolkata. His father has been working in a private company and his mother is a homemaker. His father lost his job during the lockdown. His uncle partially supports their family. His father has been the lone bread earner for the family. After losing his job it has become very challenging for him to run the family in a proper manner and also arrange money for his son’s education.
At that difficult time, when despair engulfed Kaushik, Mr. Arindam Banerjee, a kind-hearted sponsor of Mukti TSS, showed the light of hope to Kaushik through his sponsorship.
Without taking any fees Kaushik is now teaching 7 underprivileged students of his neighbor.
.Nilay Hazra
Nilay Hazra is pursuing MBBS (3rd professional) from Burdwan Medical College. He resides with his parents and elder brother at Bonpas village, Mondalpara, P.O- Bonpas of Purba Barddhaman district. His father is a farmer and his mother does household work. Due to a lack of a moderate income, it is difficult for her parents to bear the expenses of daily needs and then support the education for their sons. Yet they want their sons to be established in life. Nilay is a studious student. He wishes to shoulder the financial burden of his family. He is fully aware that a prestigious job can give him a prosperous life.
Recognizing his indomitable spirit GSCA (Garden State Cultural Association) selects him for sponsorship.
He is providing free tuition to needy students.
