Mukti has started constructing bathrooms of the three model houses at the Mukti library campus. As of now, construction has started for 2 houses.
The first model house is made with interlocking blocks with cell ceiling and tile (tali) roofing. The dimensions of the bathroom for this house are 4.50’ (width)x 4’ (length)x 6:50’ (height). The walls are constructed by the ferro-cement technique, which involves the application of mortar or plaster over a metal chicken-net framework. Bamboo has been used to support the walls. Instead of nails, tire ropes are used for better longevity of the bamboo. The roof of the bathroom is made of tiles.
The second house is made of mud, with a dome ceiling and grass roofing. The dimensions of the bathroom for this house are 6.50’ (length) x 4.50’ (width) and 6.50’ (height). The ferro-cement technique is used for the walls of this bathroom as well. The roof of this bathroom will be made of grass.
Very soon the bathroom construction of the third house will initiate.
