“Good health begins with clean hands.” Guided by this belief, Mukti Child Project is celebrating Global Handwashing Month from 15th October to 15th November across all its Community Development Centres. The campaign aims to inspire children to make proper hand hygiene a daily habit and to understand its vital connection to overall health and well-being.
Through interactive demonstrations, games, storytelling sessions, and group discussions, children are learning the importance of washing hands with soap at key moments — before eating, after using the toilet, and after playing outdoors. The celebrations have transformed classrooms into spaces of learning through fun, where awareness meets practice.
Community facilitators and teachers are engaging young minds in discussions on how invisible germs spread and how simple habits can prevent illnesses like diarrhoea, cold, and flu. Parents and caregivers are also being encouraged to promote handwashing at home, ensuring that this habit extends beyond the classroom into everyday life.
The ongoing activities have not only created enthusiasm among children but have also instilled a sense of responsibility towards personal and community health. As Global Handwashing Month continues until 15th November, Mukti remains committed to nurturing a generation that understands that small actions — like washing hands properly — can lead to big changes in building a healthier, happier society.
