Exploring Sundarbans’ Challenges: Mukti’s Involvement in Climate Impact Research

Dedicated to creating positive change in the face of environmental challenges, Mukti has taken a significant step forward by contributing to a groundbreaking research project on the Sundarbans region. In collaboration with Jadavpur University and Northumbria University, this joint initiative aims to delve into the intricate complexities of the Sundarbans’ climate crisis over the next three months.

To conduct this comprehensive study, a team of 12 specially chosen volunteers will play a vital role in collecting essential data using innovative methods such as photo voice and diary writing. Through these means, the volunteers will be able to capture the profound impact of the climate crisis on the Sundarbans and observe how individuals respond to these challenges.

On 19th July 2023, Mukti organized an orientation program to kick-start this venture. With the presence of the Jadavpur University research team, the event was infused with a sense of purpose and intellectual curiosity.

During the orientation program, the volunteers received valuable insights from the research team, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively.
