Adolescent Health and Community Engagement: Highlights from Mukti HOPE’s Capacity Building Event

The Mukti HOPE team organized a dynamic two-day staff capacity-building workshop on Adolescent Health in collaboration with the CINI Chetana Resource Center (CCRC) on the 22nd and 23rd of July, 2024. The workshop saw the enthusiastic participation of 30 individuals, including Community Mobilizers, volunteers, and Swasthya Songini members.

Day one focused on critical issues surrounding Adolescent Health, Mental Well-being, and Substance Abuse. Participants engaged in deep discussions and shared insights, enhancing their understanding and strategies for addressing these challenges.

1. Adolescent Health: Covered the unique health needs and challenges faced by adolescents, emphasizing preventive care and education.
2. Mental Well-being: Addressed the importance of mental health for adolescents, including strategies for support and intervention.
3. Substance Abuse: Discussed the risks and consequences of substance abuse, along with prevention and rehabilitation approaches.

On the second day, the conversation expanded to cover crucial topics such as Reproductive Tract Infections (RTI), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), stakeholder management, community mobilization, and the ongoing issue of substance abuse.

1. Reproductive Tract Infections (RTI) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI): Focused on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of RTIs and STIs, highlighting the importance of sexual health education.
2. Stakeholder Management: Explored strategies for effectively engaging and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance program impact and sustainability.
3. Community Mobilization: Discussed methods for mobilizing community resources and fostering active community participation in health initiatives.

This comprehensive approach equipped attendees with valuable knowledge and skills to better serve their communities and promote adolescent health effectively.
