MUKTI’s Lataguri Project Team observed National Youth Day on 12 January through a brief yet reflective programme aimed at promoting value-based learning and youth awareness among students supported under the MUKTI Support School initiative. The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated as National Youth Day in India.
Students from the supported schools, along with their teachers, actively participated in the observance. The programme provided an opportunity for young learners to reflect on the life, ideals, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, and to understand their relevance in shaping responsible, disciplined, and socially conscious youth.
The observance began with the offering of flowers and shroddhyanjali to Swami Vivekananda, marking a moment of respect and reflection. This was followed by short talks highlighting his philosophy, with emphasis on self-discipline, ethical leadership, character building, and service to society—values that continue to guide youth development in contemporary times.
Through these reflections, students were encouraged to think beyond academics and recognise the importance of moral integrity, social responsibility, and purposeful action in their personal and collective lives.
The programme concluded with the distribution of candies among the students as a gesture of encouragement and inclusion, adding a warm and joyful note to the observance.
This activity reflects MUKTI’s commitment to holistic, child-centred education, contributing to the moral, emotional, and social development of children and reinforcing the role of value-based learning in nurturing future citizens.
