A comprehensive teacher-training session was organised for MSS teachers from the Mava Centre (East Midnapore) and Bagnan on 11 December 2025 at Haturia village, Bagnan. The day-long programme aimed to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical skills, improve classroom practices, and enhance awareness of child protection standards.
The training sessions were facilitated by Mrs. Ananya Chatterjee, who led interactive modules on effective classroom management, adolescent handling techniques, and inclusive, participatory teaching approaches. Teachers were introduced to strategies for creating positive and structured learning environments, engaging adolescents through empathy-based communication, and managing classroom behaviour constructively. Subject-specific methodologies for Bengali and English were also discussed, with emphasis on differentiated instruction, group work, interactive learning, and the effective use of teaching aids.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, micro-teaching exercises, and group activities designed to bridge theory and classroom practice, enabling teachers to apply the learnings in real-world teaching contexts.
In the second half of the day, Mrs. Monami Mitra and Ms. Nandita Jayraman conducted an in-depth session on Mukti’s Child Safeguarding Policy. The session focused on the roles and responsibilities of teachers as child protectors, identification and reporting of child abuse or risk, preventive measures, and ethical conduct. Scenario-based activities helped teachers deepen their understanding of safe, responsible, and child-friendly practices.
Teachers from both centres showed strong participation throughout the programme, sharing classroom experiences and reflecting on ways to integrate the newly learned strategies into their daily teaching.
The training successfully enhanced teachers’ competencies in classroom management, adolescent engagement, inclusive teaching, and safeguarding compliance. The programme reaffirmed Mukti’s commitment to quality education and child protection. Follow-up training sessions and classroom observations have been recommended to further strengthen and sustain the learning outcomes.
