A focused Mukto Chinta Mukti Kotha meeting on student dropout prevention was held on 9 December at the Raidighi Mukti Support School Office, bringing together all Field Coordinators and Project Coordinators from South 24 Parganas. The meeting served as an important platform to reflect on ground realities and reinforce collective efforts to ensure continuity in children’s education.
Discussions emphasised the need to maintain the required student enrolment numbers in every cluster until the end of the academic year. Particular attention was given to monitoring frequent student absences and strengthening the role of teachers in remaining alert to early signs of disengagement.
Key concerns highlighted during the meeting included improving the overall quality of learning, creating a nurturing and supportive academic environment, and responding promptly to emerging challenges that could lead to dropouts. The session followed a participatory approach, with clear delineation of roles and responsibilities, and encouraged open deliberation on practical, field-level solutions.
It was collectively decided that Field Coordinators would share the key outcomes of the meeting with all MSSs within their respective clusters. They will also identify cluster-specific challenges and work towards timely, context-sensitive interventions to prevent student dropouts and support sustained learning outcomes.
