On 4th November 2025, Mukti organized an online meeting with TSS alumni doctors, members of the Mukti Health Programme team, and representatives from the Kolkata Foundation (KF). The session focused on forming a panel of doctors to conduct regular medical camps in rural areas, thereby promoting community health and advancing sustainable rural development.
During the discussion, the Kolkata Foundation proposed organizing five to six medical camps annually, focusing on the treatment of chronic health conditions and ensuring accessible, low-cost healthcare for underserved communities. This joint initiative aims to reduce the financial burden of healthcare while improving access to preventive and curative medical services in rural regions.
To ensure the program’s long-term success, participants emphasized the need to review all health awareness modules and maintain strict medical oversight. The collaboration between TSS alumni doctors and Swastha Shongini (community health workers) is expected to add strong grassroots momentum, creating a community-centered model of healthcare delivery.
Two TSS alumni doctors — Dr. Sanat Mondal (Gangadharbar Rural Hospital, Egra II, Purba Medinipur) and Dr. Arindam Paik (Dwarigeria Rural Hospital, Garhbeta) — actively participated in the meeting and expressed their enthusiasm to take the lead in organizing upcoming health camps, reflecting the true spirit of giving back to society.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted plans to prepare a comprehensive guidebook for managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and anaemia, along with training modules for Swastha Shonginis. The Kolkata Foundation further recommended that all materials be digitally documented and approved by the doctors’ panel before being shared widely through social media channels to enhance community outreach and impact.
