The Mukti Talented Student Sponsorship (TSS) team recently organized a virtual interaction between sponsor Mr. Rabindra Nath Ganguly and his sponsored students — Sanjay Rabidas, Rupa Khatun, and Runa Khatun. The session provided an inspiring platform for sharing academic progress, life experiences, and aspirations, reinforcing the essence of Mukti’s education support initiative.
Sanjay Rabidas: Overcoming Adversity with Determination
Hailing from Kanua village in Malda, Sanjay Rabidas is currently pursuing B.A. 2nd year (3rd semester) in English Honours at Malda College. After losing his father, his mother, a farm labourer earning an annual income of ₹36,000, became the family’s sole provider. Financial struggles had nearly derailed his education until he received the MUKTI scholarship in 2020, supported by Mr. Ganguly.
During the interaction, Sanjay expressed heartfelt gratitude to both Mukti and his sponsor, acknowledging that their support has kept his dreams alive. Mr. Ganguly, in turn, encouraged him to cultivate a habit of reading beyond academic texts, stay disciplined, and nurture a spirit of giving back to society.
Rupa Khatun: Aspiring Doctor with a Mission to Serve
From Gokarna village in Purba Bardhaman, Rupa Khatun is pursuing her MBBS 3rd Professional Part-2 at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. With her father working as a small farmer and her mother managing the household, the family’s annual income of ₹60,000 barely meets basic needs, while Rupa’s yearly academic expenses amount to ₹76,500.
Since receiving the MUKTI scholarship in 2022, sponsored by Mr. Ganguly, Rupa has been able to focus on her studies without financial distress. During the meeting, Mr. Ganguly discussed her career ambitions and encouraged her to extend compassion through her medical practice and to stay connected with Mukti’s vision of community upliftment.
Runa Khatun: Perseverance Amid Financial Struggles
A resident of Murshidabad, Runa Khatun lives with her parents and younger sister. Her father, Md. Sabur Ali Sk, is a farmer, and her mother, Jyotsna Bibi, is a homemaker. With an annual family income of ₹60,000 against an educational cost of ₹87,900 per year, continuing higher studies was becoming difficult.
Since receiving the MUKTI scholarship in 2023, supported by Mr. Ganguly, Runa has been able to pursue her academic goals with renewed hope. She expressed sincere appreciation for her sponsor’s generosity. Mr. Ganguly encouraged her to focus on her career path and reminded her to support others in need as she progresses in life.
A Shared Journey of Hope and Responsibility
The virtual session served as a meaningful bridge between sponsors and students, reaffirming the spirit of Mukti’s TSS initiative — “Educate, Empower, and Enlighten.” It highlighted how one person’s support can transform the lives of many, nurturing not only academic growth but also a sense of social responsibility among the youth.
