In a determined stride toward self-reliance and sustainable rural development, MUKTI organized a comprehensive two-day fish farming training session for 50 families in the Kankandighi Bio-Village area from June 10 to June 11, 2025.
This initiative is part of MUKTI’s broader mission to promote eco-friendly livelihood alternatives that align with local resources and capacities. Over the course of the training, participants were equipped with practical knowledge and hands-on guidance on cultivating fish in their own ponds — a valuable skill that has the potential to enhance food security and generate supplementary income.
The sessions covered every critical aspect of fish farming:
What made this training especially impactful was its participatory approach. The trainers ensured that every demonstration — from pond preparation to feeding cycles — was conducted in a way that was relatable, accessible, and actionable for the community.
Through this effort, MUKTI continues to reaffirm its commitment to nurturing resilient rural communities, one sustainable practice at a time. The Kankandighi training is a promising example of how grassroots education and empowerment can open pathways to self-sufficiency and long-term socio-economic upliftment.
