On 23rd November, an enriching orientation programme was conducted by Mukti for teachers of Mukti Support Schools (MSS) in West Midnapore, at Dantan. The session, which saw the active participation of 12 teachers, focused on enhancing teaching strategies and classroom management skills.
Facilitated by Ms. Ananya Chatterjee, the programme provided a platform for teachers to interact and share their experiences related to real classroom situations. Through engaging activities, teachers learned various techniques to manage diverse classroom scenarios effectively. A key takeaway from the session was the importance of conducting “circle time” before starting the day’s lessons. Teachers were guided on how to create a positive learning environment by discussing a given topic and incorporating writing activities.
In addition, the programme included practical insights on maintaining classroom discipline while making lessons more engaging. Teachers expressed their intent to adopt these new strategies in the upcoming academic year, committing to improve both their teaching methods and student interactions.
The following day, on 24th November, a similar session was held at Egra for teachers from five Mukti Support Schools. This session saw 18 teachers in attendance, and it was an equally productive and engaging experience. Coordinator Ms. Gargi Chakraborty visited the MSS, library, and computer centre at Egra, further supporting the teachers’ development and exploring resources available to enhance their teaching practices.
Both events were met with a warm reception from the teachers in East and West Midnapore, who expressed their gratitude for the support provided by Mukti. The orientation programmes not only equipped the teachers with new skills but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration among the educators of MSS.
