Mukti is proud to recognize the ongoing support of Ms. Anuradha Basu Roy, a consultant at TELSTRA in Sydney, Australia, who has been part of Mukti since 2015-16. Through her involvement in the Talented Student Sponsorship (TSS) program, Ms. Basu Roy is currently sponsoring three students, helping them overcome financial constraints causing barriers to higher education.
On 11th March 2025, TSS conducted a virtual meeting that was attended by TSS sponsor Ms. Anuradha Basu Roy, along with the students. The meeting allowed Ms. Basu Roy to connect with the students she supports, furthering the bond between sponsor and students.
Puspita Kayal: Overcoming Hardships
Puspita Kayal, one of the students under Ms. Basu Roy’s sponsorship, has completed her GNM final year at the School of Nursing, Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. Puspita’s family struggles with financial hardships, as her father works as a daily-wage farmer. Despite these challenges, Puspita is determined to continue her education and is seeking a job to support her higher studies. She is deeply grateful to Ms. Basu Roy for her support.
Krisanu: Aiming for a Ph.D.
Krisanu, who is pursuing an MSc in Agriculture Honors at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, is another beneficiary of Ms. Basu Roy’s sponsorship. His father’s limited income from farming makes education a challenge, but Krisanu is focused on achieving his goal of a Ph.D. and is thankful for Ms. Basu Roy’s continued assistance.
Subhajit: Preparing for the Future
Subhajit Jana, another student in the program, couldn’t attend the recent meeting due to his higher secondary exams but has expressed his sincere thanks to Ms. Basu Roy for her generous support.
Mukti is immensely grateful to Ms. Anuradha Basu Roy for her contribution to these students’ futures. Her support plays a crucial role in helping them achieve their academic goals and break the cycle of poverty. We wish Puspita, Krisanu, and Subhajit continued success and thank Ms. Basu Roy for making a lasting impact on their lives.
