A vital workshop on cyber security was conducted by Mukti at the Sundarban Mela 2025 on January 7th, 2025, aimed at empowering students with essential knowledge to stay safe online. The workshop saw active participation from the students of SURYA and SMART LAB, who were introduced to fundamental practices in safeguarding their personal information on the internet.
As digital engagement becomes increasingly integral to daily life, the need to educate individuals, especially young students, about the risks of the digital world has grown exponentially. The workshop focused on educating participants about various online threats such as cyber-attacks, phishing, identity theft, and privacy breaches. Students were taught how to recognize potential security risks, the importance of strong passwords, safe browsing practices, and how to use encryption and two-factor authentication to enhance their online security.
The session was designed to be interactive, with hands-on activities and real-world examples demonstrating the importance of cyber security in today’s digital landscape. The students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with experts from Mukti, who guided them through practical exercises, ensuring they gained a solid understanding of how to protect their personal data.
Mukti recognized the importance of cyber-security education, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where the digital divide is still significant. The Sundarban Mela, an annual event that attracts a diverse crowd, provided an excellent platform for this initiative.
The event ended with a sense of accomplishment, as students left with a stronger understanding of how to protect their online presence and a deeper appreciation for the importance of cyber security in the modern world.
