Mr. Madhav Thapar, Vice President of “C. H Robinson”, conducted a visit to Mukti Gram – Purba Sridharpur on August 9, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of the “Adopt A Village” project, a collaboration between C. H. Robinson and Mukti, focusing on primary education, village beautification, and agriculture.
Accompanied by Mukti’s Founder President, Mr. Sankar Halder, Mr. Thapar received a warm welcome from the Mukti team, volunteers, and project beneficiaries upon his arrival. The visit commenced with an informative meeting involving the staff of Mukti Kishalaya Support School (MKSS), where Mr. Thapar showed a keen interest in understanding the teaching methodologies employed by the teachers. Attended by around 12-13 individuals, including teachers, project coordinators, managers, and accountants associated with MKSS, the meeting provided valuable insights into educational strategies.
Subsequently, Mr. Thapar engaged with the beneficiaries of the agriculture project at the Sustainable Agriculture Movement (SAM) office premises. C. H. Robinson’s support provided 50 farmers with seeds, and Mr. Thapar interacted with approximately 30-35 of these farmers. Mukti’s agriculture project team elucidated how the organization successfully transitioned conventional farmers into practicing organic farming.
The visit concluded with interactions with the Mukti core committee members and 18-20 beneficiaries of the village beautification initiative. Mr. Thapar inquired about the impact of the project on women’s lives and their newfound self-reliance. Expressing gratitude, the women involved in the project thanked Mr. Thapar for providing them with livelihood opportunities.
Before departing, Mr. Thapar embarked on a field visit to observe an organic farmer’s land, observing the process of organic manure production. Impressed by the experience and the beneficiaries’ stories, Mr. Thapar shared his satisfaction with the visit, lauding Mukti’s impactful work.
