Value Education Orientation Programme for MSS Teachers: A Step Towards Enriching Teaching Practices

On the 31st of January 2025, MUKTI organized a transformative Value Education Orientation Programme for the dedicated educators of Mukti Support School (MSS). The session was designed to enhance the teachers’ understanding of value education, its significance, and how to incorporate it effectively into classroom practices.

The event began with an introduction of all participants, fostering a sense of community among the educators. Mr. Sankar Halder, the Founder-President of MUKTI, set the tone for the day with a thought-provoking address on the importance of value education. He emphasized how values shape the holistic development of students, nurturing their character alongside academic growth.

The next phase of the workshop invited participants to engage in a group exercise where they were tasked with discussing the concept of value education. The groups reflected on how they currently integrate values into their classrooms, sharing experiences and exploring different teaching methods. The teachers then brainstormed strategies for improving the process, with a focus on ensuring that values such as empathy, respect, responsibility, and integrity are seamlessly woven into daily lessons.

Following this, an interactive workshop provided the opportunity for participants to explore real-life interventions and strategies that could be implemented within the existing framework of their teaching. This session encouraged teachers to reflect on their current practices, consider challenges they face, and identify solutions that could elevate the educational experience for their students.

By the end of the session, the teachers had a renewed sense of purpose in their mission to not only educate but to instil strong moral values that will shape their students into conscientious and well-rounded individuals. The session concluded with reflections from all participants, reinforcing the collective commitment to creating an environment that supports the growth of both intellect and character.

This orientation program marks an important step forward in MUKTI’s ongoing mission to empower educators, enhance teaching methodologies, and ensure that students receive a well-rounded education rooted in values that will serve them throughout their lives.
