TSS Sponsor Student Meet between Mrs. Poulomi Chakraborty and Astami Mondal

On behalf of Mukti, TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) team has organized a virtual sponsor student meet between Mrs. Poulomi Chakraborty and her sponsored student Astami Mondal on 16^th April 2022, Saturday. The meeting has been conducted by Ms. Pampa Karmakar – project coordinator of TSS and Ms. Pampa Burman – TSS Associate. Both the sponsor and student are excited to meet each other as they have been meeting for the first time. Before this meeting, Astami has wrote letters to her sponsor thanking her for her generosity as her support had given Astami the confidence to be hopeful and pursue her academic dream.

Mukti expresses warm thanks to Mrs. Chakraborty for sponsoring Astami.

Mrs. Chakraborty has been sponsoring since this year. Her husband Mr. Sauvik Chakraborty has been associated with Mukti from its inception and has been sponsoring TSS since the beginning. He is a well-wisher and has a very good relationship with Mr. Shankar Halder – Founder-President of Mukti. She has decided to sponsor students after observing her husband’s interest in social service. She is averse to publicity. She doesn’t want to get highlighted. She, from the heart, just wants the students to study well.

Astami is a student of class XI. She is pursuing Bio-science at Raidighi Chandrakanta High School. She stays with her parents and two younger sisters at Purba Jata, Raidighi of South 24 Parganas district. The younger sister is a class 3 student and the elder one learns in class 7. Her father’s name is Mr. Haridas Monal and her mother is Mongola Mondal. She has scored 90.07% marks in the Madhyamik examination from Jogendrapur high school. She got admitted to Raidighi Chandrakanta High School with pure science. But after just 2 months due to their limited financial resources, she has been forced to transfer from pure science to Bio-science. Her father is unable to support her studies as he has to support his other two daughters’ education too.

Her mother and grandmother stand by her side when she has gone through depression for not getting a chance to continue with pure science. They encourage her to fight and to apply to the Mukti TSS program to get sponsorship. Education is valued in her family and she is determined to make the most of the opportunity she has been given. She dreams of becoming a nurse in the future. In 2021 she gets selected by Mrs. Chakraborty. It is the love and care of Mrs. Chakraborty which is allowing her to focus on her education so one day she can bring hope to others. Astami and her family thank Mrs. Chakraborty for her kindness.

During their meeting when Mrs. Chakraborty wants to know how her education is going or is she facing any difficulties then Astima replies that she is very much afraid of physics. Mrs. Chakraborty assures her that her husband will help Astami understand physics. Mrs. Chakraborty has been surprised to know that Astami has started preparing herself for nursing. But at the same time, she is aware Astami to be focused on her forthcoming H. S examination first and then thinking about nursing. Being a young girl and not having proper knowledge about how to build up a career Astami doesn’t understand what to choose and how to implement plans. Mrs. Chakraborty shows her the way nicely and said that Astami should contact her if there is any need or before taking any decision. Astami pleads to Mrs. Chakraborty to guide her as her guardian and never to leave her. Mrs. Chakraborty assures Astami that she will keep holding her hand till Astami reaches her goal.
