Sponsor-Student Meeting Between Mrs. Jayati Ray and SoumyadipGiri

Mukti TSS (Talented Student Sponsorship) organized an in-person meeting between the sponsor Mr. Jayati Ray and her sponsored student Soumyadip Giri on 7^th December 2022 at the Mukti City Office, Garia. Soumyadip came with his father and Mrs. Ray participated in the meeting along with her brother, Mr. Soumendu Roychowdhury.

Mrs. Ray’s hometown is Durgapur, West Bengal. She has moved to Australia with her family and now is associated with an old age care facility in Sydney.

 

Soumyadip is presently pursuing BS-MS Dual Degree Program (1st year) from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata. He appeared for the Higher Secondary (HS) exams in 2022 and ranked 10th in West Bengal. He stays with his parents at Narayanpur village under Kakdwip Block of South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. His mother is an ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services)worker. They have a shop that they rent out, and the family depends on this rent and his mother’s salary. However, this is not sufficient to meet the expenses of Soumyadip’s higher studies. But Soumyadip’s indomitable enthusiasm to continue his studies made him apply for the Mukti TSS sponsorship, and his merit was recognized by Mrs. Ray.

Mrs. Ray interacted with Soumyadip and discussed his studies in great detail. She said that she feels proud of him for ranking 10^th in the HS examination. She motivated him to go forward with his unshakeable spirit. She assured her support all through Soumyadip’s journey.

She said “Thanks to Mukti for giving me this opportunity to do something for society. Thanks to Mr. Sankar Halder, Professor Pradip Ray, Mukti Australia, Mrs. Mitra Das and Mrs. Koyel Ghorai. I wish to stay connected with Mukti as long as I can in order to help the people in need.”

Soumyadip also expressed his gratitude to his sponsor and thanked her for keeping faith in him. He said that Mrs. Ray is a great inspiration to him. He wishes to give something back to the community when he attains his goals in the future.

Mrs. Ray handed over a book to Mr. Sankar Halder – Founder-President of Mukti. The book was provided by Prof. Ray from Australia. Mr. Halder wrote about technology in this book, which was later edited and published.

Mukti expresses sincere appreciation and thanks to Mrs. Ray for her generosity in supporting Soumyadip to pursue his dream.
