Sayan’s Remarkable Journey: Overcoming Financial Barriers to Pursue a Medical Dream

Growing up in his hometown in Purba Bardhaman, Sayan Datta nurtured a deep-seated ambition to become a doctor. Living with his parents, elder sister, and grandmother, he witnessed their hard work in the agricultural sector, primarily focused on farming. Sayan, an ambitious and diligent student, dedicated himself to preparing for the NEET examination, which eventually secured him admission to the prestigious SSKM Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

However, Sayan’s dreams faced a formidable obstacle: his family’s financial situation. Despite his remarkable achievement of securing a place in medical college, the funds required for his further educational pursuits seemed out of reach. Undeterred by the challenge, Sayan’s determination led him to discover Mukti in 2019, a beacon of hope for students in need of financial support. Seeking assistance, he underwent an interview process to qualify for the TSS scholarship, an opportunity that would change the course of his life.

Mukti’s long-term patron, the “Garden State Cultural Association,” recognized Sayan’s potential and decided to sponsor him until the completion of his course. The scholarship proved to be a lifeline for Sayan, alleviating the burden of educational expenses, living costs, and other basic necessities. From 2019 to 2023, throughout his journey of pursuing an MBBS degree at SSKM Medical College, Sayan received immeasurable benefits from Mukti’s financial support and motivational guidance. With perseverance and the constant support of Mukti, he successfully completed his MBBS degree, a testament to his resilience and dedication.

Currently engaged in his internship at SSKM Hospital, Sayan looks back with profound gratitude for the support and guidance he has received from Mukti. The organization’s presence in his life has been instrumental in nurturing his dreams and pushing him to reach new heights. As Sayan embarks on the next chapter of his medical career, we extend our heartfelt wishes for his success in all future endeavors.
