Educational institutions in Bengal have been shut since March 16 2020 over Covid fears. Physical classes resumed for a brief period for senior school students on February 12 this year only to shut down again in April as Bengal faced a severe second Covid wave. But now, the West Bengal Government is considering re-open the schools, colleges, and universities on 16th November 2021.
Mukti support schools are also closed for about a year and a half as per the instructions of the government. As a result of being closed for a long time, some furniture gets damaged. They need to be repaired immediately to start the class physically. Accordingly, Mukti hires labor to repair the broken benches of the classrooms.
Approximately 30 pairs of benches and a table have been repaired by Mukti in each of Purba Sridharpur and Uttar Kankandighi Mukti Support Schools. Two carpenters have worked for a whole day to complete the repair work. The work of cleaning and sanitization will also start very soon.
Mukti is ready to reopen the schools in compliance with the Covid protocols as soon as Mukti receives consent from the West Bengal government.
