In a significant initiative to raise awareness about the vital role of mangrove ecosystems, a workshop focusing on the importance and protection strategies of mangrove plants was organized by Mukti on the third day of the Sundarban Mela 2025.
Held on January 6th, the event saw the active participation of 160 villagers from surrounding areas. The workshop highlighted the ecological, economic, and environmental benefits of mangroves, emphasizing their crucial role in coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation.
Experts in the field of environment led the session, offering valuable insights into sustainable mangrove management practices and protection strategies. Attendees were educated on methods to combat deforestation, restore damaged mangrove areas, and promote community-driven conservation efforts.
By organizing such workshops, Mukti aims to foster a sense of responsibility and empowerment among local communities, ensuring the long-term protection of the Sundarbans’ delicate mangrove ecosystem.
The workshop concluded with participants expressing their commitment to taking active steps in preserving the mangrove forests for future generations, marking a positive shift in the ongoing conservation efforts in the region.
