Mukti continues to make strides with its ongoing SWAS 2.0 project, supported by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). This initiative, focused on enhancing the skills and economic opportunities for rural women, is currently offering specialized training in food processing and traditional crafts, providing participants with the tools to improve their livelihoods and become financially independent.
The food processing training session, which began on 28th March 2025 at the Gopalnagar branch, is part of the SWAS 2.0 initiative aimed at teaching rural women how to produce a range of food products. Over ten days, participants will learn how to make jams, pickles, laddoos, papads, spices, and mixed snacks, opening up new avenues for local entrepreneurship. By equipping women with these valuable skills, Mukti hopes to foster a sustainable income model that enables them to sell their products within their communities and beyond.
At the same time, the Shola set making training at the Lakshminarayanpur branch took place from 3rd to 15th March 2025, allowing participants to learn the intricacies of Shola crafting, a traditional art form known for its intricate and eco-friendly decorations. This training empowers women to create and sell unique Shola-based items such as decorative pieces and accessories, while also preserving a vital part of the region’s heritage.
Both training programs are a crucial part of Mukti’s strategy to create long-term change for rural women, helping them tap into new economic opportunities while also fostering local pride and cultural preservation. As these programs continue, the SWAS 2.0 project is actively expanding its reach, with plans for additional training sessions throughout the year.
