Mukti’s health team played a pivotal role at the “Sundarban Agriculture, Education, Handicrafts, and Environment Fair 2024,” operating a first aid stall from January 5th to 9th, along with organizing a thalassemia camp on January 6th. The first aid stall, led by Mukti’s esteemed traditional healer Barun Kayal, offered assistance to around 40-50 fair attendees, providing immediate medical aid and free medicines to those in need. Simultaneously, the thalassemia camp conducted on January 6th saw an active participation of five representatives from Diamond Harbour Hospital, with two medical professionals performing thalassemia tests. Over 70 students from classes XI and XII benefited from blood screenings conducted during the camp. Mr. Babu Lal Sapui, the primary thalassemia counselor from Diamond Harbour Hospital, delivered an enlightening speech, raising awareness among the audience about the nature and impact of the disease. This concerted effort by Mukti’s Health team significantly contributed to providing immediate medical aid and fostering awareness about thalassemia within the community.
