Mukti Run for a Cause

At the time when the whole world is fighting against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic on 26^th May , 2021 the devastating cyclone Yaas slammed over Sundarbans, flooded acres of agricultural lands, damaged thousands of houses, and forced the villagers to huddle in the cyclone shelters or had made a temporary shelter with plastic on the river embankments. Their sufferings were indescribable.

In this adverse situation Mr. Soumitra Sa a member of the Kolkata Running Community, had decided to run and raise funds for those vulnerable people of Sundarbans who at the same time are struggling with Covid-19 and the damage caused by Yaas.

To bring them back to their normal life and for the development of Sundarbans Mr. Soumitra Sa ran 441 km, 21 km every day 21 days. His fellow runners and the other runners of Kolkata Running Fraternity also ran 1190 Km to support him and have raised the fund Rs.1 Lakh. The raised fund will be used for the deprived people of Sundarbans. The 21X21 charity event started on 12^th July 2021 and continued for 21 days.

Mr. Ashok Kundu, one of the senior members of Kolkata Running Fraternity, as a mentor supported the whole program. He helped Mukti to raise funds from within and outside Kolkata.

Vinayak Vision was the eyewear partner and Fast&Up provided the Hydration support during these runs.

While talking about his success Mr. Soumitra Sa said “I dedicate all my achievements to my family, especially to my wife Mrs. Jayanti & my mother-in-law and to my fellow runners. Without their support and encouragement, this would never be possible for me.”
