In a pioneering move to empower students with essential knowledge to stay safe in the digital world, MUKTI organized a Cyber Security Workshop at Raidighi College on February 28, 2025, as part of the institution’s National Science Day celebrations. The event aimed to equip students with the tools and awareness needed to protect their personal information and navigate the online world securely.
The workshop commenced with inspiring speeches by the Principal of Raidighi College, Dr. Sasabindu Jana and Dr. Amitava Moitra, a professor in the Science Department. Both speakers emphasized the increasing significance of cyber security in today’s digital age and highlighted the importance of spreading awareness about online risks, especially among young students.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from students of Raidighi College, who were introduced to fundamental practices for safeguarding their personal information online. As digital engagement becomes a vital part of daily life, the need to educate individuals, particularly the youth, about the risks of the online world is more pressing than ever. This workshop aimed to address that need by focusing on various online threats, including cyber-attacks, phishing, identity theft, and privacy breaches.
Throughout the session, students were taught valuable skills such as recognizing potential security risks, the importance of creating strong passwords, safe browsing habits, and utilizing encryption and two-factor authentication to strengthen their online security. The workshop was designed to be both informative and interactive, with hands-on activities and real-world examples showcasing the importance of cyber security in today’s increasingly digital landscape.
Experts from MUKTI guided the students through practical exercises and encouraged them to ask questions, ensuring that each participant gained a deeper understanding of how to protect their personal data from online threats. The students were given the opportunity to engage with real-time scenarios, which helped them grasp the concepts more effectively.
The event concluded on a positive note, with students leaving the workshop with a stronger understanding of online safety practices and a heightened appreciation for the importance of cyber security in the modern world.
As the event wrapped up, the students expressed gratitude to MUKTI for organizing the workshop, which not only expanded their knowledge of cyber security but also inspired them to be more vigilant in protecting their online presence.
The successful workshop marks a significant step towards creating a safer digital environment, especially for young learners who are at the forefront of the digital age.
