For more successful hatching of fertile eggs Mukti launched Incubator and Hatching machine at ”Mukti Community Hatching Center” at Purba Sridharpur, model village.
It takes 21 days for an egg to become a chick. Mukti installed setter to initiate the incubation of cold endothermic eggs during the first 18 days of the hatching process. It will help the embryo to grow faster. After 18 days the eggs will be transferred to the Hatcher for 3 more days. The hatching machine will regulate environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity required for successful hatching. At a time, 1000 eggs can be put in setter and 500 in Hatcher.
The MCDF members are collecting “Koyler” chicken eggs from the villagers for hatching. 9 members of the group of 10 are engaged in collection where as 1 member is engaged to supervise the hatching process. She is trained by the company who provided the hatching machine.
800 chicks can be produced in one month by hatching.
Benefits of hatching:
Mukti has a plan to buy such more machines in near future.
