A green thick sheet of dense hedge is a perfect treat to the eyes. The dense hedges not only give that extraordinary look to the environment, but they also act as homes for many birds, small insects, tiny mammals and so on. To keep the hedges fresh and lively always, timely pruning, watering the hedges properly is very important. The work of nurturing the hedges in Mukti Gram is being carried out in full swing.
An essential part of aftercare plantation is watering. Mukti has started watering the hedges planted on both sides of the 1 km 800-meter road stretching from Purba Sridharpur Ration Shop to Jogen Mondaler Ghat in Purba Sridharpur (MUKTI Gram) under Nagendrapur GP.
Hedges are being watered through a 1,000-liter tank with an attached pipe. Mukti has hired a van for the purpose. The van driver and his assistant are engaged in filling this tank with fresh water from the submersible pump set at Ramkrishna Bazar and watering the hedges twice a day. The tank has to be filled 6-8 times per day. It is needed to water the plants 4-5 days a week during summer and 3 days a week during winter.
Mukti is bearing the cost of the diesel used for the van. The van driver works on a contract basis.
