Mukti has completed leveling the ground of the sports complex at Purba Sridharpur Ganger Ghat under Nagendrapur GP, Mathurapur block II. Implantation work of the grass seedlings has been started on 26th May 2022. The proposed sports complex is comprised of an 80-meter X 80-meter field. It will take 4-5 days more to cover the full ground.
Mukti has bought this special type of grass seed from Muchisa Nursery, Amtala. These seeds are cultivated in the Mukti nursery. On two and a half kathas of land, grass beds are made for the germination of the seeds. Once the grasses become mature enough for plantation, they are removed from the nursery and planted in the field at a distance of 6 inches. Approximately, 40,000-45,000 seedlings will be needed to cover the whole ground.
Under “Food for Work” 10 MCDF (Mukti Community Development Fund) members of Purba Sridharpur branch are engaged in the plantation and nurturing work. With the plantation, they are regularly watering the seedlings.
