Mukti is Growing Lotus Flower in the Ponds of Mukti Village

 

For the beautification of the Mukti Village, Purba Sridharpur, Mukti is planning to plant Lotus plants in all the ponds of the said village. At this very first stage Mukti has selected 4 ponds of Mukti village within which 2 are located at Mukti Library garden and 2 are from Mukti SAM office premises.

 

Mukti bought 50 Lotus plants from Patharpratima Block. The flowers they will produce all will be pink in color. After 1 year these plants will grow in their quadruple, which means these 50 plants will produce 200 more. In future these Lotus buds will be distributed to the villagers.

 

The objectives are:

1. Conservation of this rare species of pink Lotus.
2. Create a good business opportunity as this flower has a great demand in Pujas and decorations. Pickle can be made from the steams.
3. Beautification of the village ponds.
