
On 26th February 2025, Mukti welcomed Ms. Ipsita Thakur from KPMG and climate thinker Mr. Arindam to visit its field activities. The day began with a tour of Aylabandh, where the visitors saw the plantation of mangroves, vetiver grass, dragon fruit, coconut, and various fruit trees. The diverse plantings are aimed at restoring the ecosystem, stabilizing soil, and creating sustainable livelihoods. Ms. Thakur and Mr. Arindam were impressed with the depth of the initiative and its environmental benefits.
Next, the group visited the Daktarbheri site, where Mukti is focusing on mangrove restoration, which is vital for protecting coastal areas and promoting biodiversity. Both visitors expressed admiration for Mukti’s climate action efforts.
The final stop was Mukti’s Sabuj Kunja Office in Purba Sridharpur, where they met with Self-Help Group (SHG) women. The women shared their experiences of working on sustainable agriculture and livelihood projects, showcasing how Mukti’s programs are empowering local communities, especially women.
Ms. Thakur and Mr. Arindam commended Mukti for its holistic approach to community development and environmental conservation. The visit highlighted the positive impact Mukti’s initiatives are having on both the environment and the lives of the local people.
