Mukti has Planted 15, 300 Mangrove Saplings at Bhubaneswari Island for Conservation of Sundarban

Sundarbans Mangrove Forest carries an enormous value in local and global context. It provides various ecosystem services primarily to local communities and broadly to global communities. For instance, the Sundarbans offers livelihood, recreational facilities within local territory and carbon sequestration at the global scale. Hence it is important to conserve this huge forest.

Mukti in association with “United Way India” and “PWC” aimed to plant 30,000 Mangrove saplings at Bhubaneswari Island. Mukti is thankful to the supporters who have come forward to protect the forest as well as millions of lives depending on its existence.

 

From Mukti’s end Mr. Debabrata Halder along with the representatives of “United Way India” were present at the site.

15,000 saplings were planted on 27^th February. The saplings were brought from Hingalganj Mukti Nursery. 36 MCDF members were engaged in planting the trees.
