This year, the Mukti for Social Development, Australia team enthusiastically joined the Durga Puja celebrations organized by the Bengali Association NSW (BANSW) in Sydney. At this vibrant event, they orchestrated a splendid “Anondomela” or food fest, achieving a remarkable fundraising milestone of AUD 3,400, equivalent to Rs. 1,79,292. The primary objective of this feast was to channel the generated funds towards Mukti India to bolster the development efforts in the Sundarbans region.
The event was held on the evening of October 20, 2023, at the Auburn Youth Centre, a thriving community hub in the western part of Sydney, Australia. The festivities commenced at 6 p.m. and a dozen dedicated volunteers served food at Mukti stall only. Alongside Mukti, there were 13 stalls from different vendors with an array of delectable items. These were eagerly savored by the visitors, who not only enjoyed the scrumptious treats but also wholeheartedly contributed to the cause. The spontaneous engagement and genuine altruism exhibited by the volunteers played a pivotal role in the resounding success of this charitable endeavor.
