National Youth Day in India is celebrated on January 12th to mark the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, who was a Hindu monk, philosopher, and one of the most influential spiritual leaders in India. He was born on January 12, 1863, and his teachings and philosophy have had a significant impact on the development of modern India.
Approximately 620 students, teachers of 15 centers of Mukti Support School to commemorate the day paid tribute to Swamiji by garlanding his picture in their respective campuses. Teachers delivered lectures related to the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda to motivate the students. Teachers told the students that Swami Vivekananda was a key figure in the introduction of the Hindu philosophy of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world, and he is credited with bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century. He was also a strong advocate for social justice and worked to uplift the status of women and lower castes in Indian society. Teachers also advised the students to reflect on the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda in their own lives and consider how they can make a positive impact in the world.
