Manik Biswas: Making MUKTI Proud

A dream or a goal can hardly be achieved without effort, but what if you are dealt a hard hand at birth. Poverty and hardship go hand in hand, and for Manik Biswas this was one of the many obstacles he faced before achieving his target.

Born to Sanatan Biswas, a farmer and Tultuli Biswas, a housewife, Manik Biswas is a resident of Krishna Batichar of Hooghly district in West Bengal. Manik had been selected for sponsorship in 2011, under the Talented Student Sponsorship Project of Mukti, by AiducateNow.

Due to the economic struggles faced by his family, continuing with his studies was a difficult task. The entire family was dependent on the earning of his father and the monthly income from the yield was hardly enough to sustain the whole family. Manik studied in the local government school, where there were hardly any expenses. In 2010, Manik cleared his Madhyamik exams from Krishna Batichar High school with a great score of 80%. But then his troubles began as his family was unable to support him for higher studies.

With generous support from AiducateNow and assurance for financial help for his future education, Manik passed Higher Secondary and completed his graduation from Hooghly Mohsin College under Burdwan University. AiducateNow continued his sponsorship till he had completed M.Sc from School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad  in the year 2017, with a first division.

At this stage, it was very important for him to support his family by having an assured income. He prepared himself rigorously for the government jobs and qualified as Track Maintainer in the Howrah Division of Eastern Railway, through the Railway recruitment Cell and joined in the Nabadwip section on 27^th November 2017.  He also got selected as a Chemical and Metrological Assistant in Indian Railways through the Railway Recruitment Board.

Today, Manik is being able to support his family with a government job which his family had dreamt for him. We, at Mukti, are very proud of Manik and his achievements. Fighting all odds and creating a place in this world is not a small feat, and AiducateNow  is proud to stand beside him, and many such students, as they accomplished his dreams. We are delighted to have been a part of his success and wish him the best for all his future endeavours.
