Mangrove Plantation Preparation Work at Purba Sridharpur
Mukti is preparing 10-12 Hectare river bed beside the river Thakurain for Mangrove plantation at Purba Sridharpur. Mukti aims to plant 10 Lacks Mangrove saplings all through Sunderban.
16 women from Purba Sridharpur were engaged in cutting the canals. It took 4-5 days to complete the work. The drains will be filled by the sediment of the river itself as in those areas the high and low tides always passes through. After 3-4 days the Mangrove saplings will be planted.
Under the “Food for work” project these women will receive an honorarium of Rs. 2,000 and dry ration from Mukti.
“AID” one of the respectable donors of Mukti, is supporting for Mangrove afforestation.
