Kolkata Foundation’s Mr. Ramit Sen Visits Mukti’s Swastha Songini Program in South 24 Parganas

On the 4^th of February, 2025, Mr. Ramit Sen from the Kolkata Foundation visited six villages in two blocks under the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. His visit aimed to review the field activities of Mukti’s Swastha Songini health program, which is designed to improve the health and well-being of underserved communities in the region.

The Swastha Songini initiative, a flagship program by Mukti, has been running with the goal of enhancing women’s health through awareness, education, and access to healthcare services. The program focuses on providing vital health services, and fostering better health practices among rural communities.

During the visit, Mr. Sen had the opportunity to meet with the beneficiaries of the Swastha Songini program. He engaged in an interactive session, where he listened to the beneficiaries share their experiences with the program. The villagers expressed their gratitude for the health services provided and emphasized the positive impact the program has had on their lives. Many of the women shared how the health education and support from the Swastha Songini team had significantly improved their overall well-being, as well as the health of their families.

Mr. Sen was pleased to see the dedicated work of Mukti’s health team, who have been tirelessly working on the ground to make a difference in these communities. He observed firsthand the team’s efforts in conducting health awareness sessions, distributing health supplies, and providing medical consultations. The positive outcomes of the program were evident, with villagers reporting better access to health services and increased knowledge about disease prevention and treatment.

The Swastha Songini program remains a critical part of Mukti’s efforts to transform rural healthcare, and with the ongoing support from partners like the Kolkata Foundation, the future looks promising for the communities it serves.
