Healthcare Outreach: Free Cervical Cancer Screening in Raidighi

Mukti, in collaboration with the Kolkata Foundation, organized a cervical cancer screening camp on 22nd July 2024 at Karunamoyee Nursing Home in Raidighi, South 24 Parganas district. Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital, Kolkata, supported the camp through their CSR initiative by providing healthcare staff to educate the public, collect samples, and offer fully free treatment to patients who tested positive for cervical cancer.

The Raidighi “Swastho Songini” team organized and directed the camp with great efficiency. Prior to the camp, “Swastho Songini” members conducted a door-to-door awareness campaign. Under their supervision, 60 women from the nearby locality attended the camp, and 40 were screened. Currently, 4 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer are receiving free treatment from Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital.

Mukti expresses heartfelt gratitude to Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital for their invaluable support in organizing these camps across various locations in Sundarban. This initiative significantly improves the lives of rural women, ensuring they have the right to live with dignity and access to essential healthcare services.
