Ensuring Respect: PoSH Initiatives at the Workplace

On the 7th and 8th of November 2023, Mukti conducted two enlightening orientation sessions on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) policy in the workplace at the Village Office. The training for the Integrated Development project staff was conducted at the Purba Sridharpur library office while training for the MCDF, MIT, Kishalaya, SAM, MSS, Voice, and Shahoshini staff was conducted at the Raidighioffice. 61 individual trainees actively engaged in these sessions. Spearheading the discussions were Nandita Jayraman, the Project Coordinator of Rights and Special Needs, and Monami Mitra, the HR professional at Mukti.

The workshop meticulously dissected the fundamental components of the PoSH Act, unraveling their profound significance. Attendees emerged with a profound comprehension of the collective responsibilities shared by both employees and organizations in the prevention of sexual harassment incidents within the workplace. The collaborative effort of Nandita Jayraman and Monami Mitra ensured that the sessions were not only informative but also fostered a heightened awareness and commitment to fostering a safe and respectful work environment.
