On the occasion of “World Health Day” on April 7th, 2024, Mukti organized a free Health Camp at Shahara GP in the Egra Block of Purba Medinipur district. This endeavor was made possible through the generous support of New Shree Ram Nursing Home, reflecting a collective commitment to community well-being.
Drawing in a significant turnout, 155 patients from Shipur village under Shahara GP availed themselves of the camp’s services, which took place at the Mukti Library office in Shipur. From 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm, individuals from the community were provided with essential health checkups and consultations, thanks to the dedicated efforts of a team comprising Gynecologist and Obstetrician Dr. Bidisha Banik from New Shree Ram Nursing Home, Child specialist Dr. Debasis Bera from Sub Division Hospitals, Egra, and Ayurved and Homeopath Dr. R. Maiti, a respected physician from C. M. M College. Patients who were prescribed any tests, were offered a 20% discount from New Shree Ram Nursing Home.
Prior to the camp, Mukti diligently raised awareness among the local populace across 21 villages under Shahara GP through effective communication channels such as loudspeaker campaigns and banner displays, ensuring maximum outreach and participation.
In a notable gesture of solidarity, Mukti established a collaborative partnership with Shree Ram Nursing Home, extending benefits beyond the camp’s duration. Mukti SHG members and Mukti Support School students were assured a 10% discount on medicines upon presenting their prescriptions along with the Mukti coupon—a testament to the sustained support provided by the organization.
The overwhelming gratitude expressed by beneficiaries underscored the immense impact of such initiatives, particularly for those residing in remote areas. Many voiced their appreciation to Mukti and fervently requested the continuation of these camps on a monthly basis, citing the significant challenges faced in accessing healthcare facilities, with the nearest hospital being located approximately 25 kilometers away—a journey that proves arduous, especially for the elderly and the underprivileged segments of society.
In summary, Mukti’s Health Camp not only exemplified the spirit of compassion and solidarity but also underscored the invaluable role of collaborative efforts in addressing critical healthcare needs within communities.
