Career Counselling Session and Placement Drive Held at Raidighi College

A Career Counselling session and placement drive was successfully conducted by SURYA, an initiative by Mukti, in collaboration with the Placement Department of Raidighi College. This event, which took place on the college premises, was specifically aimed at first- and second-year general students, helping them explore career opportunities, enhance their self-assessment skills, and make informed decisions regarding their future career paths.
The session commenced with an introduction to the SURYA initiative, where the organizers shared the purpose behind the career counselling program. Attendees were informed about the key areas that would be covered, including guidance on career exploration, decision-making processes, and the development of both soft and technical skills. The presentation also highlighted the various Skill Development programmes and job-oriented courses available under the SURYA project, designed to empower students with the necessary tools for professional growth.
A major emphasis of the session was placed on the importance of acquiring vital soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and leadership, alongside technical expertise tailored to specific career goals. These skills are increasingly sought after by employers across diverse sectors.
Students were given the opportunity to assess their current skills and interests through self-assessment activities. This was followed by discussions on the various career paths available, from traditional sectors to emerging fields, allowing students to better understand how to align their passions with suitable professional opportunities.
