28 aspiring entrepreneurs from the Project Swabalamban Accelerator in Sundarban (SWAS), supported by the Small Industrial Bank of India (SIDBI), received their well-deserved Artisan cards at an event held on June 28, 2023. The much-anticipated card distribution and felicitation program took place at the Kankandighi training center, where Mr. MadhusudhanBairagi, a distinguished trustee of the Mukti Board, graced the occasion and personally oversaw the distribution of these coveted Artisan cards.
The journey leading up to this milestone began in January 2023, when Mukti applied to the Central Handicrafts Department located in Salt Lake, CGO Complex, Kolkata, on behalf of the trainees. The trainees underwent rigorous training sessions provided by SIDBI, honing their skills in crafting soft toys, jute crafts, jute jewelry, dry flowers, tailoring, and food processing. Now, armed with their newly acquired Artisan cards, these gifted entrepreneurs are well-equipped to elevate their businesses and showcase their products throughout India.
Mukti expresses profound gratitude to SIDBI for their invaluable contribution, which has played an instrumental role in the lives of these marginalized women. Thanks to their support, these women now have the opportunity to not only enhance their skills but also thrive in the competitive market. The issuance of these Artisan cards will serve as a gateway for these talented handicraft artisans, granting them access to a myriad of benefits, schemes, and incentives offered by the government.
With hearts brimming with hope and anticipation, the trainees eagerly step into a promising future, ready to make their mark in the world of entrepreneurship. The Mukti-SIDBI partnership stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, enabling individuals to overcome adversity and embrace their true potential. Together with SIDBI’s unwavering support, Mukti remains committed to empowering marginalized women and uplifting communities, ensuring a brighter and more inclusive tomorrow for all.
