From July 26th to 31st, 2023, Mukti engaged with Heramba Gopalpur GP’s adolescent groups, conducting targeted training on gender-based violence as part of the Amplifying Community Voices (ACV) project. Drawing on the expertise of the training partnerPraajak, Mukti implemented a comprehensive gender-based violence module for the training. The session drew active participation from 66 adolescents among which 28 were boys and 38 girls.
Mukti’s ACV Project members orchestrated this initiative with a dual purpose: to provide adolescents with a foundational understanding of gender-based violence and to encourage them to critically observe its manifestations in their surroundings. The training also prompted these young minds to contemplate and formulate preventive responses to such violence. Through practical scenarios designed to mirror real-life situations ripe for violence, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions on both physical and mental forms of violence. This interactive approach effectively fostered an environment for meaningful learning and reflection.
