Sponsor Student Meeting Between Mr. Animesh Datta and Students

Mukti Talented Student Sponsorship (TSS) team conducted a virtual sponsor-student meeting between Mr. Animesh Datta and his three sponsored students – Sankha Pal, Kalpataru Sarkar and Isha Sadhu – on 25th March 2023. As Isha’s exam is going on so she was unable to attend the meeting. The students met their sponsor for the first time.

Mr. Datta has been associated with Mukti from the 2022-23 academic sessions. He pursued electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and was awarded the 2006 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society VLSI Transactions Best Paper Award. He was also nominated for Best Paper at the Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference in the United States.

Sankha Pal is pursuing MBBS final year 8th semester from the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (IPGME&R). He belongs to a farmer family of six members with very limited means. He lives with his family at Gurbari village in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. Sankha says his parents always encouraged him to continue his education although he has always seen them struggling financially. He considers himself blessed for receiving sponsorship from Mr. Datta.

Kalpataru Sarkar is pursuing MBBS 2nd Profession from Midnapore Medical College and Hospital. His family consists of his mother and elder brother. His mother works in a post office and is the only bread earner of the family since his father passed away in 2012. Even in the midst of financial hardships, Kalpataru has never thought of giving up his studies because he knows that education is the way out of poverty and the way to self-reliance through a successful career. His dream took flight when Mr. Datta extended his helping hand.

During the meeting, Mr. Datta first introduced himself and shared his own college life experiences and his ambitions. He expressed his interest to know about the progress of the students in their studies, their future plans to upgrade their careers, their families, and their hobbies. He suggested acquiring good habits, developing a personality, engaging in extracurricular activities, and participating in sports, freehand exercises, etc. He encouraged them to attend workshops where they can acquire knowledge on various subjects which will help them to enrich their minds.

Sankha said that besides his studies he plays cricket and football, and loves to read novels by so-called and also of current authors. While sharing his future plans Sankha said that after MBBS he wants to sit for National Exit Test (NExT). He wants to complete a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and afterward Doctorate of Medicine (DM).  He has already started preparation for MD. Mr. Datta suggested he take guidance and help from senior students and also offered to share some numbers of his doctor-friends with Sankha so that Sankha can approach them for advice. Mr. Datta was appreciative to hear that Sankha worked as a volunteer for 3 days in Perizia, the annual fest of their college.

Kalpataru said that he loves to play cricket and sing songs. He used to perform in his school programs and used to conduct the school prayer.  As Kalpataru has 3 more years to complete his MBBS degree, Mr. Datta told him that presently he must focus on completing his MBBS with a good score and that from now onwards he should converse with the senior students to plan what to do after completing MBBS.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Datta told the students to send their resumes to him so that in the future he can guide them more precisely. He also told them to call him whenever they need his support or assistance.

Mukti expresses sincere thanks to Mr. Datta for his sponsorship. He has given the students the chance to materialize their visions for a bright future.
