Mr Surojit Naskar runs “Hariseba Ashram”, an NGO at Banshberia Kulpi, Sunderban. He is an ex-CRPF soldier, who lost both his eyes in a land mine blast by Naxalite-Maoists in Dantewada district on 18th September 2008. Harisheba Ashram is helping underprivileged school children to continue their studies.
As part of his social commitment, Mr. Naskar wanted to conduct a plantation and sapling distribution program in his locality. To salute his contributions and his spirit, MUKTI has decided to sponsor this program.
The event was organized on 29-July-2015. The presence and excitement amongst the villagers, local children, and school students were amazing.
MUKTI provided 500 saplings, and bore the cost of organizing the ceremony as part of its “Go Green” initiative. This event was another grand success for this initiative.
